In April 2020 a fantastic group of people from Caithness cycled the distance of 874 miles Lands End to John o’ Groats, and raised a total of £2,001. 10p, which will go towards CHAT’s 100 mile maternity helper bags.
These free bags are for women who have to attend Raigmore at short notice and they give women,and their babies the basic essentials that they may need.
Hopefully, the proposed new “state of the art” Maternity Unit that is planned in Wick will allow more mothers to be able to safely give birth, locally in Caithness and the need for these bags will reduce.
